Chief Master Sgt. Brian L. Lewis has been selected to become the 19th Security Forces career field manager, becoming the top enlisted advisor to the Air Force director of Security Forces.
In this role, Lewis will advise on Security Forces policy, organizing, training, equipping and maintaining mission readiness.
In selecting Lewis, Brig. Gen. Roy W. Collins, Security Forces director, said "Chief Lewis has an impressive background and skill set. I look forward to working with (him). His background is perfect for the job."
Selected for the position based on broad consensus, Lewis will take over in September. "I'm honored to be selected as the inbound Security Forces career field manager," Lewis said.
Lewis is clearly prepared for the new assignment.
Prior to assuming his current position, Lewis served as the Air Force Global Strike Command Security Forces manager. He served as the command's primary Security Forces advisor on enlisted issues and interpreted and ensured enforcement of nuclear and nonnuclear policy directives to execute combatant command wartime taskings.
Lewis has held a variety of positions in the Security Forces career field, to include antiterrorism officer, air base defense instructor and major command inspector general inspector.
In addition to his other duties, Lewis will advise on the management and development of all enlisted Security Forces personnel.
"Even though personnel are changing, one thing that will stay constant is our commitment to investing in our Defenders" Collins said. "We must raise our Defenders to a level where they perform at their best. We can only accomplish this level of performance by setting high expectations and investing in them."
