Police have stopped a vehicle on Auckland's Southern Motorway following numerous driving complaints this evening.
Police began receiving calls just before 5pm.
"It was reported the Mercedes-Benz was swerving across southbound lanes, and narrowly avoided hitting several vehicles on the motorway," Senior Sergeant Dave Readings says.
Police units have stopped this vehicle south of the Papakura on-ramp, near Drury.
Senior Sergeant Readings says the male driver, and a passenger, are now in custody and Police enquiries are ongoing.
"We acknowledge those motorists who called 111 this evening so that we could prevent any harm from occurring."
