Victoria’s gold stocks on rise

In an interview appearing in the November edition of Australian Mining the Geological Survey of Victoria’s Cameron Cairns outlines some of the gold projects underway across the state and Victoria’s potential for future discoveries.

According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, Victoria is experiencing record minerals exploration expenditure, while the highest grade and lowest cost underground gold mine in the world is operating at Fosterville.

With about 75 million ounces of gold estimated to be undiscovered across northern Victoria, geoscience data and knowledge delivered by the Geological Survey of Victoria is helping explorers to better understand where world-class gold may be discovered.
