WA best for mining investment

WA Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety

The latest release of the Fraser Institute's Annual Survey of Mining Companies has ranked Western Australia as the most attractive jurisdiction in the world for mining investment.

WA's outstanding performance across 2021 was based on its robust regulatory framework and globally recognised prospectivity for metals and minerals.

The State's top ranking comes just days after DMIRS statistics for the same year, report that WA's resources industry achieved record sales record sales of $230 billion resources sales were up a massive 30 per cent, or $53 billion, from 2020.

The Fraser Institute is an independent Canadian policy think-tank. The Institute's annual Fraser Report ranks mining regions on their geological potential and investors' perception of government policy to provide an overall score for investment attractiveness.
