WA Excellence In Allied Health Awards 2025: Meet Winners

Eleven outstanding allied health professionals and teams were recognised at the WA Excellence in Allied Health Awards 2025, held on Tuesday 14 October at the University of Western Australia (UWA).

Congratulations to all the winners, especially Ian Cooper who received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Honour for his incredible contributions as former Head of Physiotherapy at Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital. His work has left a lasting impact on allied health in WA.

This year's award winners are:

Allied Health Educator of the Year

  • Lindi Pelkowitz, WA Centre for Rural Health (WACRH), University of Western Australia

Allied Health Researcher of the Year

  • Ivan Lin, University of Western Australia
  • Robert Schutze, Royal Perth Hospital, Multidisciplinary Pain Management Centre

Allied Health Assistant of the Year

  • Michelle Gardner, Child Development Service, Child and Adolescent Health Service

Aboriginal Allied Health Award

  • Glenda Kickett, University of Western Australia

Early Career Allied Health Professional of the Year

  • Caris Bogdanov, Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospitals Group

Allied Health Leader of the Year

  • Vin Cavalheri, South Metropolitan Health Service and Curtin University

Allied Health Professional of the Year

  • Meg Stewart, Rockingham General Hospital

Allied Health Team of the Year

  • Weekend Feeding Team, Perth Children's Hospital

These awards highlight the incredible work happening across communities throughout WA, from metro hospitals to rural health centres, and the people who go above and beyond every day.

The awards coincided with Allied Health Professions Day (external site), a global celebration of the vital role allied health professionals play across more than 30 professions in WA.
