From a dietician supporting regional eating disorder patients, to an orderly bringing kindness to dialysis patients, and researchers transforming maternal-foetal medicine, Western Australia's brightest health stars have been revealed.
The finalists have been announced for the 2025 WA Health Excellence Awards, recognising outstanding health professionals and teams delivering safe, innovative, and high-quality care for Western Australians.
More than 40 finalists have been named across 11 categories, including four vying the 7News Health Heroes award, nominated by community members.
Health Hero finalist, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital's nurse practitioner Sue Morey has been described by her cystic fibrosis patients as a 'second mother' and 'the backbone of the respiratory department'.
Albany Health Campus senior dietitian, Alison Johnson, is also a Health Hero finalist for transforming the lives of young people recovering from eating disorders with her compassionate, person-centred care.
