Perth is set to host Bowls Australia's elite lawn bowls festival, the Nationals, as part of a newly signed two-year agreement.

The McGowan Government, through Tourism WA, has secured the Nationals for Western Australia in 2023 and 2026, with the first event scheduled to take place from 6 to 20 October next year.

The 14-day lawn bowls festival combines six national bowls competitions, and is set to attract a legion of competitors, officials and supporters to Perth.

The six lawn bowls competitions hosted as part of the Nationals span all ages and include bowls champions from across Australia, with contests to be held at various select venues across Perth.

More than 1,000 interstate visitors are expected to visit Perth for the Nationals.

The most recent survey from the National Bowls Census shows there are just under 700,000 lawn bowls players across Australia, with more than 54,000 players in Western Australia.
