Published today (18 June) by global higher education analysts QS Quacquarelli Symonds, Warwick ranks 68th globally among more than 1,500 institutions across 106 countries and 10th in the UK.

The latest results highlight major progress in several key areas, underpinning Warwick's global reputation and research strength including:

  • 'Employer Reputation' - climbing 6 places to 54th place
  • 'Sustainability' - rising 34 places to be ranked inside the world's top 100
  • 'Citations per faculty' - moving up 27 places in the global rankings

This result continues the positive upward trajectory for Warwick in international and national rankings, as well as recent awards success as UK Council for International Student Affairs (UKCISA) Institution of the Year, reinforcing its position as a leading global university. It reflects Warwick's sustained progress and growing global recognition for its excellence in research, teaching, and real-world impact.

Among leading UK universities, Warwick ranks 10th overall in QS 2027, with particularly strong performances in:

  • 'Employment Outcomes' (7th)
  • 'Employer Reputation' (9th)
  • 'Academic Reputation' (10th).

Welcoming these results Professor Stuart Croft, Vice-Chancellor and President, University of Warwick, said: "Warwick is a globally respected University, and these results reflect the commitment and hard work of our staff, students, alumni, and partners.

"At Warwick, we are always questioning, exploring, and pushing boundaries in our world-leading education, research, and innovation. We believe in making a positive difference in the world through everything we do.

"These results reflect the progress we are making and give us encouragement as we work towards our ambition of being among the world's top 50 universities by 2030."

Over the past year, the University of Warwick has deepened its global engagement with a range of partners, including QS, to help share our expertise and insights into key social and sectoral issues. Warwick is a member of the QS Responsible AI Consortium (QS RAIC), which brings institutions together to develop and support responsible and ethical approaches to artificial intelligence in higher education. Warwick is leading a working group on Sustainable AI for the Consortium, and, of all members, has the highest number of students this year engaging in the QS RAIC AI Student Internship programme.

Later this month, University representatives will participate in the QS Higher Ed Summit: Europe 2026, contributing to sector discussions and expert roundtables on the future of higher education, international collaboration, and research excellence.

"We are determined to ensure that our research talent and teaching excellence are reflected in our global standing. That means continuing to expand our global networks, deepen our international engagement, and strengthen our impact.

"I am excited to build on this progress, working collectively across Warwick and with our wider partners to strengthen our global reputation, and our rankings position, in the years ahead."

Reflecting Warwick's strategic ambition to be internationally recognised as world class for impactful research, and as part of its long-standing alliance partnership with Monash University, the University will host the Monash-Warwick Summit this July. The conference will bring together the two strategic education partners to strengthen global collaboration, knowledge exchange, and interdisciplinary research.

These initiatives form part of Warwick's wider international strategy to strengthen research visibility, deepen global collaboration, and support its ambition to reach the QS world's top 50 universities by 2030.
