Weapon incident at Gold Coast

A boy is being dealt with under the Youth Justice Act after police found him with a gel blaster in Southport last night.

Officers were called to Scarborough Street in Southport just after 6.00pm, following reports a person was sighted holding a weapon.

Police tracked the boy down to an address on North Street a short time later where he was taken into custody without incident.

The 12-year-old boy is being dealt with under the Youth Justice Act for going armed as to cause fear.
