Meet the new leaders in our Tourism, Economy and Culture team.

Alisha Chadwick (pictured left) steps up to the role of Manager Tourism, Economy and Culture with over 25 years' experience at Council across tourism, events and community services.

Jemma Docherty joins as Coordinator Tourism and Economy, bringing more than a decade of Victorian local government expertise in tourism and economic development, destination marketing and city centre activation.

BEST TRAIN TIMES

train.talbot.grab.png

We're asking the Victorian Government for additional trains between Maryborough and Ballarat on weekdays.

Council is requesting five trains per day compared with two currently.

We're calling on Central Goldfields Shire residents to tell us what service times they'd like to see added to the Maryborough train timetable.

Your feedback will be shared with the Minister for Public Transport to help support our advocacy.

STORMING AHEAD

In the last week of February, our Roads and Works crew completed maintenance grading of Lillicur Road, then the following weekend the area was hit with a severe storm cell.

This included 75mm in the rain gauge in 45 minutes.

With the support of our Open Spaces team who cleared branches, debris, and dangerous hanging limbs, both grading crews have been back in the area, mainly along Lillicur, Mia Mia and Norburys roads.

Culvert #19 - which was almost completely washed away - is now restored, while work on the roads continues.

Well done by our Operations Depot for a huge team effort!
