Western Australia Covid update as at 3 September 2022

WA Health is reporting a total of 1,076 new cases to 4pm yesterday. There are currently 6,535 active cases in Western Australia.

The latest figures from overnight show there were 209 people with COVID-19 in hospital, 5 in ICU.

Sadly, today's report includes four deaths, dating back to 4 August, which were reported to WA Health yesterday – three women and man in their 80s.

Of the 1,076 cases, 405 were confirmed via PCR test, the remaining 671 were self-reported positive rapid antigen tests.

A total of 2,598 PCR tests were conducted at either state-run or private pathology clinics yesterday.

WA has recorded 1,133,007 cases since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
