Western Australia Covid update as at 5 September 2022

WA Health is reporting a total of 758 new cases to 4pm last night. There are currently 6,091 active cases in Western Australia.

The latest figures from overnight show, there were 201 people with COVID-19 in hospital, 5 in ICU.

Sadly, today's report includes two deaths, dating back to 29 August, which were reported to WA Health yesterday – two men in their 70s.

Of the 758 cases, 193 were confirmed via PCR test, the remaining 565 were self-reported positive rapid antigen tests.

A total of 1,369 PCR tests were conducted at either state-run or private pathology clinics yesterday.

WA has recorded 1,134,556 cases since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
