WHO Unveils Global Survey on Boosting Clinical Trial Capabilities

The World Health Assembly Resolution 75.8 (WHA 75.8), "Strengthening clinical trials to provide high-quality evidence on health interventions and to improve research quality and coordination", was adopted by the 75th World Health Assembly in May 2022. WHO is developing best practice guidance following the direction of the resolution, highlighting the key scientific and ethical considerations in clinical trial design and implementation, strengthening clinical trial ecosystems, and addressing underserved subpopulations in clinical trials.

A survey has been developed as one of the modalities for a series of consultations for the implementation of WHA 75.8. The inputs collected from this survey will help to inform the next steps of our engagement, at global, regional, and country levels to gather further input to the guidance and inform WHO's support to Member States and non-state actors in the implementation of best practices for clinical trials.
