Why Do You Study That? Worms

David Sherwood studies tiny roundworms called C. elegans. They can serve as a great model for genetic and biology studies since they are transparent, have known cells and tissues similar to ours, and grow from embryo to adult in a matter of days. Sherwood's lab has made many important discoveries using this one species of worm, and he couldn't love them anymore.
