Labor has again called for the Minister Roger Jaensch to bring six at-risk Tasmanian children home from the Northern Territory.
Shadow Child Safety and Youth Affairs Minister Josh Willie said there are serious questions remaining over the safety and welfare of the six Tasmanian children who are still engaged in the Brahminy program.
"There's a review underway into the program which has had extremely serious allegations levelled against it and these kids need to be brought home as a priority," Mr Willie said.
"As Parliament resumes this week and Minister Jaensch's competence and credibility again come under pressure, the least he could do is act to protect the interests of these children.
"The longer he leaves them there the more untenable Roger Jaensch's position becomes. The Minister should resign and if he won't go voluntarily then the Premier should sack him.
"Labor's position on this has been clear and consistent: these young people cannot be left in a potentially discredited program at a remote location in the Northern Territory.
"They must be brought home, now."
