A woman has been charged after she allegedly assaulted a paramedic and a police officer in Sydney yesterday.
About 4:15pm (Thursday 14 May 2026), NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to Hyde Park, Sydney, following reports of a concern for welfare.
On arrival, ambulance officers located a 23-year-old woman requiring treatment, however she attempted to leave the scene but was detained with the assistance of officers attached to Sydney City Police Area Command.
While the woman was in the ambulance, she allegedly punched a 46-year-old paramedic in the groin and allegedly scratched a female police officer on the hand.
About 9pm yesterday, she was released from hospital into police custody.
She was taken to Day Street Police Station where she was charged with assault of front-line health worker and assault police.
She was refused bail to appear in Bail Division Court 7 today, Friday 15 May 2026.
