Woman Faces Court Over Three Emaciated Horses Found Near Mannum

There are seven cases scheduled for court hearings in April

A woman is due to appear in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court to face three counts of ill-treatment of an animal in relation to three horses, all found in emaciated condition on a property in the East Murray District near Mannum.

A male defendant is due to appear in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court to face two counts of ill treatment of an animal in relation to a one-year-old dog found inside a filthy, small room in Murray Bridge. The dog has been rehomed.

Two men are due to face the Elizabeth Magistrates Court in relation to a long-running case involving 11 sheep and 75 cattle found on a property north of Adelaide suffering or deceased, allegedly as the result of chronic neglect.

A female defendant from the northern suburbs is due to face the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on charges relating to an emaciated dog found in squalid conditions and with no access to water, a second dog and a cat, both also being kept in squalid conditions and without access to water, and a guinea pig found confined inside a filthy small cage.

A 27-year-old woman is due to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court to face two counts of ill-treatment of an animal in relation to two dogs found in emaciated condition at a north-eastern suburbs property. The defendant in this long running case has previously been arrested on a warrant after failing to attend court last year.

A trial is ongoing in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court with a female defendant charged with ill treatment of an animal in relation to a Standardbred horse that was found emaciated and suffering from a chronic and painful medical condition. The horse was euthanased on humane grounds.

Two female defendants from a regional town north of Adelaide will face the Adelaide Magistrates Court on cruelty charges relating to a large number of dogs, cats, native animals and birds found in poor condition and being kept in squalid conditions. The majority of the animals recovered and have now been rehomed after the defendants surrendered them.
