Final works are underway on a new roundabout in Ballarat's rapidly-growing west as part of the Allan Labor Government's $60 million investment to cut congestion and boost safety across the city.
The new roundabout at the increasingly busy Dyson Drive and Ballarat-Carngham intersection will help motorists get to their destination safer and sooner.
Ballarat's growing population has led to increased traffic at the site, with 700 vehicles using the intersection every hour during peak times. This figure is expected to increase 60 per cent by 2041.
Crews will undertake major construction works at the intersection including installing traffic islands, pavement upgrades, drainage enhancements, and asphalting works.
During the works, residents are asked to plan ahead and expect delays, particularly during peak hour.
The works are part of the Labor Government's $60 million Keeping Ballarat Moving program, which has already delivered major upgrades to other major intersections across the city.
Thanks to this major investment, upgrades are now complete at five major Ballarat intersections: Gillies Street/Gregory Street, Albert Street/Hertford Street and Albert Street/Docwra Street, Glenelg Highway/Wiltshire Lane, and La Trobe Street/Wiltshire Lane.
