You can recycle your Easter egg foil

Chocolate Easter eggs are delicious but they come with a lot of wrappings.

It means plenty of leftover packaging that should be disposed of responsibly to ensure we look after our planet.

Did you know that the cardboard, plastic and foil wrapping from your easter chocolates can be recycled?

Cardboard can go directly into your yellow-lidded bin.

Plastics - do the scrunch test - if it holds its shape or bounces back you can place it in the yellow-lidded bin.

Any soft plastics need to go in the red-lidded bin.

They're too small and light to recycle on their own, but if you collect your foil wrappers and bunch them in a big ball, you can recycle them in your yellow-lidded recycling bin.

And for all that foil from your Easter chocolates - collect it, scrunch it into a ball and anything bigger than a tennis ball can go into the yellow-lidded bin.

The foil wrappers are too small and light to recycle on their own, but making them into a large ball will ensure they can be processed for recycling and help reduce waste going to landfill.
