Nine Western Australian public schools will receive a funding boost to support upgrades to their sport and play areas, thanks to an almost $3 million investment from the Cook Labor Government.
Golden Bay, Endeavour, Lakelands, and Port Kennedy primary schools in Secret Harbour will receive a combined $1.7 million dollars in funding to upgrade their sports playing courts.
Singleton and Comet Bay primary schools can expect a combined $350,000 in upgrades to playgrounds and shade structures in play areas, while Secret Harbour Primary School's early childhood playground will receive an $600,000 upgrade.
Comet Bay College will receive $150,000 to resurface and repaint playing courts.
Rockingham Lakes Primary School will receive $150,000 to refurbish the school's cricket nets and surfaces.
Planning for these works will commence immediately.
This announcement builds on the Cook Labor Government's record investment of $6.4 billion in new schools and education infrastructure upgrades across Western Australia.
As stated by Premier Roger Cook:
"Schools are the heart of our communities, and these upgrades will give students more opportunities to get active, play and connect with their classmates.
"My government is investing in practical improvements that make a real difference for students.
"We want every Western Australian student to learn and thrive in schools with high-quality facilities, no matter where they live."

"The Cook Labor Government's investment in school sports and play infrastructure supports and maintains the wellbeing and health of our students.
"These upgrades will mean better playgrounds, courts, and sporting facilities that students can enjoy throughout the school day.
"Planning will begin immediately so these upgrades can benefit students for years to come."
