8-hour recycled water shutdown in Googong

Googong Water Outage

Googong's recycled water supply will be shut down for eight hours on Wednesday 28 September as part of the construction of the new recycled water reservoir.

Recycled water will be unavailable from 9am to 5pm as contractors working on behalf of Googong Township Proprietary Limited install a new connection to the existing recycled water main that services Googong.

Toilets and irrigation will be impacted at all residential, public and commercial properties within the Googong serviced area. The works have been scheduled for the school holidays so as not to affect the Googong Anglican School.

Residents are encouraged to fill a bucket of water to manually flush toilets where necessary.

This shutdown will not affect Googong's potable (drinking) water supply. All access to water used for drinking, bathing and kitchen use will remain as normal.

The new 8ML recycled water reservoir will support Googong's growth and replace the existing 4ML reservoir. Residents shouldn't notice any changes once the work is complete.

The existing 4ML recycled water reservoir will be shutdown, sanitised and repurposed for potable water use.

These works are unavoidable and for safety reasons cannot be conducted at night.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work with Googong Township to deliver this project.
