World-class Cricket Returns To Drummoyne Oval

Some of the world's best cricketers are coming to Drummoyne Oval this November, with Sydney Thunder returning to their home ground for a huge summer of women's cricket.

Canada Bay residents will have the chance to see World Cup winners Phoebe Litchfield and Georgia Voll bring electrifying T20 cricket right into the heart of Canada Bay, with four match days scheduled at the iconic Drummoyne ground.

City of Canada Bay Mayor Michael Megna said having elite women's cricket on the doorstep was a fantastic opportunity for local residents and cricket fans.

"Drummoyne Oval is the home of Sydney Thunder and we're incredibly proud to welcome the team back for another summer of top-level cricket," Mayor Megna said.

"You don't often get the chance to see some of the world's best cricketers this close to home, and I'd encourage residents to get along and experience the atmosphere at Drummoyne Oval."

Cricket will take over Drummoyne Oval throughout November, with matches on:

  • Sunday, 1 November - Sydney Thunder vs Brisbane Heat, followed by Sydney Sixers vs Hobart Hurricanes
  • Thursday, 5 November - Adelaide Strikers vs Brisbane Heat, followed by Sydney Thunder vs Perth Scorchers
  • Monday, 16 November - Sydney Thunder vs Melbourne Stars

Sydney Thunder is also giving City of Canada Bay residents even more reason to get behind their local team, with a special 2-for-1 ticket offer.

Residents can use the promotional code CANADABAY when purchasing tickets to claim the deal.

"This is a great offer for our residents and a great excuse to bring the family or a few friends along for a day at the cricket," Mayor Megna said.

"Drummoyne Oval is a brilliant place to watch sport and we're looking forward to seeing plenty of local support in the stands for Sydney Thunder this summer."
