ACCOs Secure $18M for Perth Homeless Outreach Services

The ACCOs were found successful following a commissioning process, administered by the Department of Communities.

Three Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs) have been awarded nearly $18 million by the WA Government to deliver a range of coordinated outreach services to people sleeping rough in the Perth Metropolitan area.

As part of the new Booraka Danjoo service model, Karlup Aboriginal Corporation, i24S Aboriginal Corporation, and Noongar Outreach Services will deliver services to the North-East, North-West and Central Corridors of Perth respectively over the next five years.

The ACCOs were found successful following a commissioning process, administered by the Department of Communities, which aligned with the Whole of Government ACCO Strategy to deliver culturally responsive and secure services that empower Aboriginal people.

The Booraka Danjoo service model is a rapid approach to identify, engage, and provide support to improve health and housing outcomes for people experiencing rough sleeping in the Perth Metropolitan area. This involves engaging with and assessing individuals' needs to identify appropriate support, accommodation and housing options.

In line with the All Paths Lead to a Home: Western Australia's 10-Year Strategy on Homelessness 2020-2030, Booraka Danjoo will deliver culturally appropriate outreach and intensive support for people who are experiencing chronic rough sleeping and connect them directly with specialist support services to plan and support pathways out of homelessness.

Service delivery in the respective locations will commence from July 2026, as well as the announcement of the successful organisation delivering services in the Southern Corridor.

Targeted, evidence-based investment like this demonstrates the WA Government's commitment to supporting safe and inclusive communities across Western Australia.
