Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B (APSB) was founded with the goal of creating a global high-level forum centred around drug discovery and pharmaceutical research/application. APSB was included by Chemical Abstracts in 2011, accepted by PubMed Central in 2015, indexed by Science Citation Index in 2017 and has evolved to become one of the most important international journals in the field of pharmaceutical sciences.
APSB is a monthly journal, in English, which publishes significant original research articles, rapid communications and high-quality reviews of recent advances in all areas of pharmaceutical sciences — including pharmacology, pharmaceutics, medicinal chemistry, natural products, pharmacognosy, pharmaceutical analysis and pharmacokinetics.

Neg-entropy is the true drug target for chronic diseases by Rui Li, Tian-Le Gao, Gang Ren, Lu-Lu Wang and Jian-Dong Jiang ( https://doi.org/10.1016/j.apsb.2025.11.026 ). Chronic diseases are driven by increased biological entropy, so the authors propose targeting the body's inherent neg-entropic mechanisms (such as homeostasis, immunity, and self-healing) rather than isolated disease pathways. They introduce "head goose molecules" (HGMs) as key regulators of neg-entropy and propose the "HGMs–neg-entropy–dCloud" axis as a new drug discovery strategy that can reprogram disease processes and treat both symptoms and root causes.
Oxygen-boosted dual-section microneedle patch for enhanced drug penetration and improved photodynamic and anti-inflammatory therapy in psoriasis by Yaqi Yuan, Peng Jiang, Chuan Xiao, Jiapeng Lei, Bo Cheng, Hankun Hu and Wei Li ( https://doi.org/10.1016/j.apsb.2025.09.037 ). A dual-section microneedle patch is designed to enhance the therapeutic efficacy of psoriasis treatment via sustained release of triamcinolone acetonide and generation of oxygen for deep penetration of drugs.
