Applications opening soon for funded three-year-old kindergarten in 2022

Brimbank three-year-olds will be able to access five hours of kindergarten each week, starting in 2022 – with families encouraged to apply for their place in mid-April.

Currently, the Victorian Government subsidises 15 hours per week of kindergarten in the year before school, known as four-year-old kindergarten.

The introduction of funded three-year-old kindergarten will give children an additional year of learning and building social skills, to ensure they are ready for school.

The three-year-old kindergarten program will be tailored to meet the needs of local children, led by a qualified teacher who will support children to develop curiosity, concentration, resilience and creativity.

Registrations for the 2022 three-year-old programs are centralised through Brimbank City Council and can be made online from mid-April 2021.

Children must turn three by 30 April in the year they attend three-year-old kindergarten.
