Architect appointed for next stage of Warwick Senior High School science upgrade

  • EIW Architects appointed to design Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) classroom at Warwick Senior High School
  • Works on the facilities expected to start in July
  • Upgrades will help support local jobs
  • Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery today announced EIW Architects will design exciting new science facilities at Warwick Senior High School.

A new STEM classroom will be built to provide first-class teaching and learning opportunities for staff and students.

The facility will include a flexible teaching space to suit a range of activities.

This is in addition to the school's new performing arts centre - also being designed by EIW Architects - which will include teaching spaces, a green room, kitchen facilities, staff areas, storage spaces, foyer and exhibition space with retractable seating for an audience of 240.

The $7 million works are now in the schematic design stage and construction is expected to start in July 2022.

As stated by Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery:

"These facilities will be fantastic modern additions to the school and I know students, staff and the school community will be as pleased as I am to see them progress.

"The performing arts centre will be a major asset for the school while the STEM classroom will help prepare students for jobs of the future."

As stated by Kingsley MLA Jessica Stojkovski:

"To be able to deliver quality public education for our community is a really important part of my job, so I am thrilled to see this upgrade progressing so quickly.

"I have worked closely with Warwick Senior High School on this project, and I look forward to seeing the development and the opportunities it will create for students in our area."
