Assault on train - Joondalup line

Joondalup Detectives are investigating an incident that occurred on a train travelling from the Butler train station to Perth on Friday, 25 February 2022.
The victim, a 22-year-old man was on the train as it departed Butler train station at around 3.55pm. A man who boarded the train at the Edgewater train station, was walking throughout the train verbally abusing people. The man was around 180cms tall with cropped ginger hair.
The man tried to take the phone of a teenager sitting in front of the victim and when the victim intervened, he was punched to the face by the man. The man left the train at the Perth train station.
The victim required medical treatment for a fractured eye socket.
Detectives wish to speak to anyone who saw or has mobile phone vision of the incident.
