Attempted murder charge at Townsville

A man has been charged with attempted murder after a stabbing in South Townsville yesterday afternoon.

Police were called to a disturbance on Nelson Street just before 1:30pm.

It will be alleged a man stabbed the other man a number of times with a knife. Police arrested a 27-year-old man at the scene.

A 38-year-old South Townsville man, was transported to Townsville Hospital with a cut to the neck and puncture wounds in his back and shoulder. He remains in hospital is a serious but stable condition.

The 27-year-old Beaconsfield man has been charged with out count of attempted murder and will appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court today.
