Back to School vouchers support one million families in NSW

More than one million families so far across NSW have had a helping hand with the cost of living thanks to the NSW Premier's Back to School vouchers.

Latest data show one month into the start of the 2023 school year and more than $175 million worth of the Premier's Back to School vouchers have been downloaded.

Premier Dominic Perrottet said that while 3.5 million vouchers had been downloaded, there was still money for families.

"The Liberal and Nationals Government is working to easing cost of living pressures for every family across our State. Whether it's a having to buy a new backpack or uniform, we know those costs add up for families. Our Back to School vouchers are here to help," Mr Perrottet said.

"I encourage all families to check if they have any unused vouchers in their Service NSW app, and remind them that they have until 30 June 2023 to apply for and redeem their vouchers."

Minister for Education and Early Learning Sarah Mitchell said the vouchers are benefitting families of school-aged children across the State.

"From Dubbo in the Central West to Kempsey on the Mid North Coast, in my recent travels families have told me just how much these vouchers have helped their budget," Ms Mitchell said.

Minister for Customer Service and Digital Government Victor Dominello said 97 per cent of families have given the program the thumbs up.

"The voucher application process via Service NSW is simple, fast and inclusive. You can download them with just a couple of taps of your phone, call Service NSW or visit a Service Centre," Mr Dominello said.

"This program is one of more than 70 ways the NSW Liberal and Nationals Government is providing hip pocket relief to households."

Earlier this year, the NSW Liberal and Nationals Government extended the Back to School vouchers to help cover the cost of school excursions in Term 1 and Term 2, helping to further ease financial pressure on household budgets.
