Blinken Meets with Mexican President López Obrador

Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken led a high-level delegation to meet with Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador today in Mexico City on the margins of the U.S.-Mexico High-Level Security Dialogue. Secretary Blinken and President López Obrador marked another year of productive discussions and shared accomplishments resulting from our two countries' annual high-level dialogues on economy and security. Secretary Blinken expressed the United States' gratitude for Mexico's efforts that led to the September 15 extradition of Ovidio Guzmán López while encouraging continued cooperation grounded in our shared respect for the rule of law. Secretary Blinken and President López Obrador also discussed the challenges presented by irregular migration and synthetic fentanyl and our efforts to address them.
