Students and staff at Wattle Grove Primary School are set to benefit from a $2 million upgrade to provide additional classrooms for the growing school community.
SPH Architecture + Interiors has been chosen to design a new general teaching block which includes four state-of-the-art classrooms as well as a new activity area, staff study and store room.
The project will support seven local jobs with construction expected to start in late February 2021 and be completed in late September 2021.
The construction of Wattle Grove Primary School's new teaching block is part of the McGowan Government's $492 million commitment to modernise Western Australian public schools over the next four years under the WA Recovery Plan, and also create local jobs.
As stated by Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery:
"These new classrooms will be a wonderful addition to Wattle Grove Primary School students to continue their quality education in modern facilities.
"Being educated in state-of-the-art rooms will provide a space for stimulating teaching and learning."
As stated by Forrestfield MLA Stephen Price:
"This is yet another commitment to improving schools in our local area and I am thrilled to see the new teaching block at Wattle Grove Primary School now a step closer to reality.
"This project will help improve education facilities at Wattle Grove to ensure it can continue to serve the community for generations to come."
