Police were called to a reception and function centre in Somerton overnight following reports a number of people were involved in a brawl.
Attending police located eight men, with varying injuries, at the Hume Highway convention centre on Saturday 7 December about 1.50am.
The injured were treated by ambulance paramedics on scene with several of the victims transported to hospital.
At this stage police are looking into reports that a number of people were ejected from the organised event before they returned, and a fight broke out.
A crime scene has been established and the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident and those involved is ongoing.
