Work underway on sporting and community venues across Queensland.
The Australian and Queensland governments have signed a Federation Funding Agreement (FFA) for the first 6 approved projects in the jointly funded Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games Venues Infrastructure Program.
The agreement is an important step in delivering the Games and creating lasting benefits for communities.
It sets out the agreed project milestones for the Sunshine Coast Stadium, Logan Indoor Sports Centre, Moreton Bay Indoor Sports Centre, Barlow Park Stadium, Sunshine Coast Mountain Bike Centre, and the Redland Whitewater Centre.
Project budgets are marked not for publication to encourage a competitive tender process.
The approved projects went through project validation processes to show long-term community benefits and value for money.
Investment in these venues places a focus on:
- accessible, inclusive and fit-for-purpose sporting and community spaces
- sustainable venue design, construction and future operations
- greater participation by women, First Nations peoples, trainees and apprentices in the infrastructure sector.
The Australian and Queensland governments are working together to ensure all venue projects meet the long-term needs of communities and are ready in time for the Games.
More venue projects will be added to the FFA as they are approved.
