The Forensic Crash Unit is appealing for witnesses following a single-vehicle bus crash that has claimed the life of one passenger at Gumlu, north of Bowen, on Thursday 14 May.
Initial investigations indicate approximately 4 pm, a bus with 29 people on board was travelling south along the Bruce Highway from Cairns to Airlie Beach, when it left the roadway and rolled onto its side.
Several other passengers were injured and transported to Townsville, Ayr, and Bowen Hospitals.
The bus driver, a 70-year-old Mackay man, was transported to Bowen Hospital with minor injuries.
Anyone with relevant vision is also urged to contact police.
Investigations are continuing.
