Carinity Funds Church Projects for Community Support

From aiding flood victims to using volleyball to foster community relationships, Carinity is helping churches provide transformational development by supporting vulnerable people in their neighbourhood.

Eight Queensland Baptist churches have been granted funding through the Small Grants round of Carinity's Collaborative Community Projects funding scheme.

Each of the recipient churches - located in Agnes Water, Mundubbera, Ayr, Brisbane, Townsville, Laidley and Ingham - have been granted $5,000 in funding.

Fairfield Christian Family has used its funding to supply a new children's playground fence at the Brisbane church, creating a safe and welcoming space where families can connect.

Mundubbera Baptist Church hosts volleyball competitions on a weekly basis in its church hall, an outreach intended to foster relationships with the community including seasonal farm workers.

Laidley Baptist Church's collaboration with Laidley District Historical Society and Carinity Karinya Place aged care, Tables of Story and Song, will unite residents and build connection through meals, music and heritage.

Fairfield Baptist Church's Daily Bread program provides for vulnerable families in the Wulguru community in Townsville, while tackling the root causes of societal barriers by building trusting relationships.

The Circle of Security pilot program run by Gateway Baptist Church aims to equip caregivers, strengthen vulnerable families, and promote connection for people to ongoing community support.

Sugar Reef Baptist Church - Helping Hands
Sugar Reef Baptist Church is using $5,000 in funding from Carinity to support people in Ingham who were negatively affected from flooding in the North Queensland town.

Sugar Reef Baptist Church's Helping Hands project supports isolated individuals in the community who were negatively affected by the 2025 Ingham floods, helping with small jobs on people's properties.

Run by a Burdekin Baptist Church member, high school chaplain and boxing trainer, the Rock Solid Boxing Club ministry is a community response to youth disengagement in the Ayr district.

Little Voices, Big Love is a Christ-centered music ministry for socially isolated mothers and their infants hosted by Agnes Water Baptist Church, offering connection, celebration and belonging.

Carinity also oversees the Collaborative Community Projects, a collaboration with Queensland Baptists which provides extensive funding to Baptist churches. More than $404,000 has been allocated towards six Collaborative Community Projects this year.
