The City will invest $226 million towards the Gold Coast's sport, recreation and community services and facilities in the 2026-27 City Budget.

"We are committed to the continued improvement of parks and community services and facilities that shape the Gold Coast way of life," Mayor Tom Tate said.

"Significant upgrades of our sport, recreation and aquatic centres will benefit from $94 million in the 2026-27 budget while libraries and community centres will receive $68 million for improvements.

"The City will continue to provide funding to our city's vital community support groups with $20 million worth of grants available to those organisations who make the Gold Coast a better place.

"Community safety is also front of mind with the roll out of an expanded and upgraded Safety Camera Network as well as improved lighting across the city."

"Our City lifeguards will also receive $19 million to ensure our beaches remain safe for locals and visitors year-round."

The much-anticipated Mudgeeraba pool renewal and improvements to various sporting facilities, such as the addition of female changerooms, are also an important part of this year's budget.

"These projects are great examples of our commitment to maintaining a high quality of life for everyone in our community with easy access to important services such as sport and recreation, community centres and libraries," Mayor Tate added.
