Classic Car Auction Breaks Records Over Weekend

Lloyds Auctioneers and Valuers

A highly anticipated live stream auction featuring 150 rare and collectable classics has again broken records showing great signs of strength in the market during the pandemic.

"Australians love their rare and iconic classics and this result shows that and also confirms people are looking to alternative avenues to invest during these current times," said Mr. Hames, Chief Operations Officer for Lloyds Auctioneers and Valuers.

A matching number iconic Holden Bathurst Monaro sold for $320,000 under the hammer on Saturday. This car originally sold in 1969 for only $3,995.

"The classic car auction on the weekend was a great success, breaking records is fantastic, however during a pandemic is a very positive sign for the industry. We had many people bidding across the auction with people tuning into our live stream from right around the world," said Mr. Hames.

The auction featured American, Australian, European and prestige classics as well as vintage bikes with the auction proceeding for just over 4 hours on Saturday.

"The weekend was massive not only for classic cars but also pinball and arcade machines, memorabilia, fine art, pink diamonds and even certified Gold Bullion and Nuggets. We believe people are looking for 'safe haven' investment opportunities and we are proud to be able to offer a wide range of items each month to our customers," continued Mr. Hames.

With the great success of Lloyds October Classic Car Auction they have announced a November Classic Race Car Auction which is online now and open for bidding at www.lloydsauctions.com.au
