The Finocchiaro CLP Government is delivering for Tennant Creek, with a $5.3 million CT scanner to be installed at the Tennant Creek hospital.

Minister for Health and the Member for Barkly, Steve Edgington, said the CLP Government was delivering better healthcare for the residents of the Barkly with a CT scanner.

"As part of our year of growth, certainty and security, the CLP Government is delivering healthcare certainty for the people of the Barkly with more healthcare services.

"A CT scanner is used to identify diseases, injuries, or infections, including imaging tumors, detecting internal bleeding, and planning complex treatments.

"This means Barkly residents can get diagnosed and undergo treatment sooner and won't have to travel to Alice Springs and beyond to get scans."

There is also $1 million in the 2026 budget to develop options for the recommission of a theatre suite and to upgrade the emergency department at Tennant Creek Hospital.

"I am delighted that design options are funded for the recommission of the theatre suite and update the emergency department at Tennant Creek Hospital meaning more surgery and better healthcare can be delivered in Tennant Creek for the residents of the Barkly.

"We are determined to make Tennant Creek once again a great place to live, work, visit and invest, and better healthcare is part of improving the lifestyle in the Barkly," Mr Edgington said.
