Community engaged in next steps for Junction Place

Wodonga Council is working with Development Victoria and the community to establish the next steps for Junction Place.

Development Victoria has held initial meetings with council and local stakeholders to provide an update on the project.

Wodonga Mayor Kev Poulton welcomed the update from Development Victoria.

“We now have a great opportunity to reset the Junction Place development and deliver a transformation of our CBD, working with Development Victoria and the community,” Cr Poulton said.

“As Australia’s largest urban renewal project, Junction Place will become a landmark precinct that will provide our city with economic and social benefits for many generations to come, and it is important to work with our community to build a vision for the future.”

The project will double the size of Wodonga’s CBD, delivering quality community spaces, and a mix of retail, entertainment, commercial and residential developments, driven by private investment opportunities and guided by local stakeholders.

“It’s encouraging to see Development Victoria’s commitment to meeting with our community and other stakeholders,” Cr Poulton said.
