Community invited to celebrate new Robinvale library

Community members are invited to attend a celebration for the new Robinvale library on Wednesday, 5 May from 2pm to 3pm.

Swan Hill Rural City Council Mayor Bill Moar said the event was a chance for the local community to come together and celebrate the new facility.

"This fantastic new permanent facility has been readily embraced by the local community, and the upcoming event is a great opportunity to celebrate the new library," Cr Moar said.

"While the library had an initial "soft" opening in January and official opening towards the end of March, this is a celebration for the community and to thank them for their support throughout the project."

A joint project between Regional Development Victoria, Victorian Education Department, Robinvale College and Council, the new library is a space shared by the Robinvale College and the wider community.

The new library incorporates meeting spaces, computers, internet access, and spaces for study and quiet reading.

"The library is a great example of how partnerships can deliver valuable resources for communities - in this case, between the Victorian Government, Robinvale College and Council," Cr Moar added.

"Of course, as mentioned, the support of the local Robinvale community also helped in the success of this project."
