Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing woman Tan.
The 73-year-old was last seen on Bedford Street in Box Hill about 7.30 am today.
Police and family are concerned for her welfare as she has Type 1 diabetes.
She is described as 152cm tall, with Asian appearance, white hair, medium build and wearing a black sweater, white pants and round glasses with red frames.
Tan does not have a vehicle and does not use public transport.
Police have released an image of Tan in the hope someone recognises her and can provide information on her current whereabouts.
Anyone who sights Tan or with information is urged to call Box Hill Police Station on 8892 3200.
