The Cook Labor Government will allow Fuel Support Payments to be donated to more than a dozen charities across a broad range of sectors and causes to support vulnerable people across the Western Australian community.
Announced as part of the 2026-27 State Budget, the Fuel Support Payment is a $100 payment available to all Western Australians with a valid driver's licence to assist them with fuel costs.
The payment will be available to the 2.3 million people with a valid Western Australian driver's licence, including learner's permits, provisional and extraordinary driver's licences from 1 July.
Western Australians can choose to receive the payment or donate it through the ServiceWA app to the following 15 charities across three categories:
Food and emergency relief
- Foodbank WA
- SecondBite
- OzHarvest
- Salvation Army
- St Vincent de Paul Society
Children's charities
- Telethon
- Perth Children's Hospital Foundation
- Starlight Children's Foundation
- The Smith Family
- Headspace
Community support
- Ruah Community Services
- Aboriginal Health Council of WA
- St Barts
- Royal Flying Doctor Service
- Ability WA
Western Australians who choose to donate their payment can choose one of the three categories, with their $100 payment to be divided equally among the five participating charities.
The initiative forms part of the Cook Labor Government's priority of supporting Western Australians with cost-of-living relief, as well as building safe and inclusive communities.
The new one-off payment is part of more than $1 billion in cost-of-living relief for Western Australian households in the 2026-27 State Budget.
The fastest and most convenient way to claim the Fuel Support Payment is through the ServiceWA app, with alternative claim options available for people who are unable or do not wish to use the app.
