Council announces resignation of two Chief Officers

COO and CFO

Chief Operating Officer (COO) Jeff Morgan and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Tracy Sligar have tendered their resignations to Snowy Monaro Regional Council's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Peter Bascomb.

Work is already underway to secure temporary coverage of these positions' many important responsibilities. The community should be aware that Council is considering deferring the recruitment of permanent replacements until after the appointment of a new CEO.

This follows councillors' decision to not renew the current Chief Executive's contract at the April Council Meeting earlier this year.

"While it's a major loss to any organisation to lose such highly experienced and valued senior executives, I fully understand and accept the reasons for both Jeff and Tracy accepting new career opportunities," said Mr Bascomb.

"I wish them every success in their new endeavours, and extend the sincerest gratitude of both our region and our organisation for all the work Tracy and Jeff have done for the Snowy Monaro during their time with us."

During this temporary period between the outgoing executives departing and new permanent replacements coming on board, Council will keep the community updated on how these vacancies are being covered in the short term.

As these resignations have only just been tendered to the CEO, there is limited information available at this time.

"Jeff and Tracy have done a fantastic job under difficult circumstances, and through their efforts have made Council a more modern, efficient, and financially sustainable organisation," said Mayor Narelle Davis.
