Mornington Peninsula Shire is inviting the community to have input into its draft Community Investment Funding Policy.

The intent of the Policy is to encourage collaboration between the community and the Shire and to encourage community led initiatives and partnerships.

The draft Policy has been developed in accordance with best practice standards, to communicate the ways in which Council will create and review its Community Investment Funding Programs.

Feedback will inform the draft Policy which is scheduled to be formally considered by Council on 8 September.

Mornington Peninsula Shire Mayor Councillor Sam Hearn said "we want to support the community in as many ways as possible".

"This draft Policy will not only maximise the use of public funds, it will also help the local community get involved and collaborate with us to achieve our Council plan and benefit our community."
