The Gosnells Women's Health Service has received $60,736 in funding from the McGowan Government's Lotterywest COVID-19 Relief Fund.
Women's Interests Minister Simone McGurk presented the grant to the service, which will use the funds to grow its online resources in support of its work with women and families.
The Gosnells Women's Health Service specialises in supporting women, families and children's mental and emotional health through counselling services, parenting programs, health promotion and life skill courses.
It also offers programs to help with post-natal depression, relationships and parenting skills.
This Lotterywest grant will support the organisation in continuing to provide essential services to clients throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
The funds will enable the Gosnells Women's Health Service to offer online health promotion programs and develop their capacity to deliver online mental health support through self-paced learning modules that focus on various areas of mental health.
By offering additional resources online, more people will be able to access Gosnells Women's Health Service's support, regardless of time, location or even gender.
As stated by Health and Mental Health Minister Roger Cook:
"COVID-19 has taught us many things, and a big one is that location and time really should not be a barrier to accessing support for mental health.
"Organisations like Gosnells Women's Health Service are a vital part of the health sector, supporting women in the south-east metropolitan area of Perth.
"Lotterywest COVID-19 Community Recovery grants are helping to ensure professional services are available to women and families, and I thank Gosnells Women's Health Service for its commitment and dedication to providing those services to their community."
As stated by Women's Interests Minister Simone McGurk:
