Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency

Canadian communities flourish when they have safe, welcoming public spaces where people can come together to connect, engage and participate in recreational programs and activities. These vibrant, interactive spaces are important for health and wellbeing in every corner of our country. Breathing new life into our communities also stimulates local economies, creates jobs, and improves the quality of life for Canadians.

Today, the Honourable Ginette Petitpas Taylor, Minister of Veterans Affairs and Member of Parliament for Moncton-Riverview-Dieppe, announced an investment of $260,680 through the Canada Community Revitalization Fund (CCRF) for Curl Moncton Inc. The announcement was made on behalf of the Honourable Gudie Hutchings, Minister of Rural Economic Development and Minister responsible for ACOA.

The Province of New Brunswick is also providing $86,895 to the project through the Regional Development Corporation.

This support will help Curl Moncton renovate and replace the roof to better accommodate the 30,000 Greater Moncton community members that access its programs and services each year.

In March, the Public Policy Forum published a report that confirms that Atlantic Canada's economy is bustling and the region is poised for exponential growth. Today's announcement highlights how the Government of Canada is contributing to this momentum - strengthing our communities, creating new opportunities, and setting the stage for a strong, sustainable future.
