Dana-Farber Lawyers Assume Leadership at American Bar Association

Steven Caltrider, Esq., vice president and chief intellectual property counsel at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, has been elected chair of the American Bar Association Section of Intellectual Property Law (ABA-IPL). Caltrider will serve a one-year term ending in August, 2024.

The ABA-IPL advances the development and improvement of intellectual property laws and their fair and just administration. The Section furthers the goals of its members by sharing knowledge and balanced insight on the full spectrum of intellectual property law and practice, including patents, trademarks, copyright, design, and trade secrets.

Prior to joining Dana-Farber, Caltrider retired as vice president and general patent counsel for Eli Lilly and Company. He also serves on the Patent Public Advisory Committee (PPAC) for the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Caltrider received a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Purdue University and a law degree, summa cum laude, from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.

Anshul Mehra, Esq., intellectual property counsel, is the incoming vice chair of the Government IP Rights Committee. The Government Rights Committee shares views and conducts dialogue on government IP related issues.

Lauren Mitchell, JD, PhD, lead patent counsel, is the incoming chair of the ABA Patent System Planning Committee. The Committee looks at proposals for undertaking fundamental structural changes to or other significant improvements in operation and the effectiveness of the U.S. patent system to provide a world-leading patent system that protects and supports innovation.
