Deputy Secretary Sherman's Meeting with UN Deputy Secretary-General Mohammed

Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman met with Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations Amina Mohammed in Prague, Czech Republic. Deputy Secretary Sherman and Deputy Secretary-General Mohammed discussed the important work of the UN in shaping global development priorities through the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in light of growing global challenges, increasing demands, and decreasing resources. The Deputy Secretary underscored U.S. support for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the important role the UN's anticipated 2023 Summit can play in reenergizing implementation of the SDGs. The Deputy Secretary and Deputy Secretary-General also discussed urgent humanitarian issues, including food insecurity, the Black Sea Grain Initiative, and the ongoing instability in Haiti.
