Driver Reported After Normanville Rollover

A driver will face court following a serious crash at Normanville earlier this year.

Police and emergency services were called to Main South Road, Normanville, at about 2.45am on Saturday 14 February following reports a Subaru sedan had crashed, rolling several times before coming to rest on the side of the road.

The driver, a 20-year-old Normanville man, sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital for assessment, where a sample of his blood was obtained. Police will allege that subsequent analysis of the sample revealed he had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.158.

Two young women who were passengers in the vehicle were taken to hospital for treatment of serious injuries. A third female passenger was also hospitalised with non-life-threatening injuries.

Victor Harbor Highway Patrol, with the assistance of the Major Crash Investigation Section, conducted an extensive investigation into the crash, including a mechanical examination of the Subaru involved.

Following these enquiries, police interviewed the driver on Friday 29 May, who was reported for several offences, including causing harm by dangerous driving, aggravated causing serious harm by driving without due care, and drink driving. He was issued a 12‑month instant loss of licence and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
