Driver Reported For Fatal Crash In Mount Gambier

A man has been reported following an investigation into a fatal crash at Mount Gambier in June.

Emergency services responded to reports of a serious crash on Jubilee Highway West, Mount Gambier about 3.45pm on Wednesday 17 June after a pedestrian was struck by a ute.

Sadly, the pedestrian, a 68-year-old Mount Gambier man, died at the scene.

The ute driver, a 23-year-old Glenburnie man, was not physically injured in the collision.

As a result of investigations, on Tuesday 1 September, Major Crash officers reported the 23-year-old driver and charged him with causing death by careless use of a vehicle, drug driving and contravening his provisional licence condition. He will be summonsed to appear in the Mount Gambier Magistrates court at a later date.
